Cardiff Academy launch new website

Cardiff Council's in-house training provider has launched a new website in order to extend its wide range of services to other public sector bodies.

Since it was created in 2008 the Cardiff Council Academy has been running internal courses for staff in areas such as leadership and management, entrepreneurship, mentoring skills, emotional intelligence awareness and improving health and safety in the workplace.

Based in City Hall, Cardiff Council Academy has a selection of modern IT suites and training rooms which provide the perfect environment for learning and these facilities can also be hired by external organisations via the website. It's an ideal location in the heart of Cardiff for business conferences and meetings for up to 50 people.

Cabinet Member for Finance, Modernisation and Performance, Cllr Chris Weaver said: "I would urge other public sector organisations to make use of the excellent training courses and facilities offered by Cardiff Council Academy. The training provided has been fully approved by the Institute of Leadership and Management and it's an excellent way of keeping public sector staff training budgets within the public sector. As an approved ILM Training Centre, Cardiff Council Academy delivers a range of ILM accredited programmes in addition to its core range of courses. "
