Caddies for the new glass recycling scheme will start to be delivered today

17,000 households will be taking part in a separate glass recycling scheme in a bid to increase the quality of the material collected and improve the markets for reuse.

Properties in 10 wards across the city have been chosen to be part of the scheme, based on the type of property and their recycling habits.

The delivery of the new caddies will begin today (October 1st) and all residents that are taking part in the scheme that live in Radyr; Canton; Pentwyn; Trowbridge and Rhiwbina will receive the caddy and information on the scheme this week.

Residents living in the remaining wards will receive the new caddy and information on the scheme next week (October 8th- 12th) so this is residents that live in Ely; Grangetown, Penylan, Splott and Heath.

The delivery schedule is as follows:

  • Monday October 1st-Radyr
  • Tuesday October 2nd- Canton
  • Wednesday October 3rd- Pentwyn
  • Thursday October 4th- Trowbridge
  • Friday October 5th- Rhiwbina
  • Monday October 8th- Ely
  • Tuesday October 9th- Grangetown
  • Wednesday October 10th- Penylan
  • Thursday October 11th- Splott
  • Friday October 12th- Heath.
