A Shared Community

Cardiff Council and the six community councils in the city have reaffirmed their commitment to working together by signing a new charter.

Council Leader, Cllr Huw Thomas, and the chairs of the city's community councils signed the updated charter at County Hall after  it was formally approved by each of the community councils and Cardiff's Cabinet in December.

Cardiff has six community councils - Pentyrch, St Fagans, Radyr and Morganstown, Lisvane, Old St Mellons and Tongwynlais.

The Charter sets out a number of broad principles and statements about how Cardiff Council and the six community councils will seek to work together for the benefit of local communities and aims to support regular engagement, based on a partnership between the two tiers of local government.

Leader of Cardiff Council, Cllr Huw Thomas, said: "Both Cardiff Council and the six community councils in the city share the common priority of putting citizens at the centre of what we do.

"By signing this charter we are all committing to building good relationships and working togetheron matters of mutual concern for the benefit of our communities."
