Have your say!

The European Parliament Election Day is Thursday, May 23.

Residents have until Tuesday, May 7 to register to vote if they are not already on the Electoral Register. The closing date to apply for a postal vote is Wednesday, May 8 and for proxy votes Wednesday, 15 May.

Paul Orders, Local Returning Officer said: "It is important that people have the opportunity to take part in this election and do not miss out because they are un-registered. Our experienced Electoral Services Team is available to provide advice and information to voters.

"People should not assume that they are able to vote just because they are registered for other things such as Council Tax. If in doubt, residents should contact the Electoral Services Team to check whether they are registered to vote."

Registering to vote only takes a few minutes: register online atwww.gov.uk/register-to-vote  or telephone the Electoral Services Team on 029 2087 2087.

A poll card will shortly be issued to all eligible electors, providing information on your allocated polling station, together with details of how you can vote by post or proxy if you are unable to vote in person on the day.

If you are an eligible EU Citizen living in Cardiff you will also already have been sent a letter and form inviting you to register for the European Elections from your Cardiff address.

The form must be completed and submitted by Tuesday 7 May 2019 to Electoral Services using the pre-paid envelope provided or by e-mail toelectoralservices@cardiff.gov.uk
