The memorial service is supported by the Stillbirth and Neonatal Deaths
Society (Sands) and will be led by members of the University Hospital of Wales
Chaplaincy.
Cabinet Member with responsibility for Bereavement Services, Cllr
Michael Michael, said: “This simple service provides a caring and
supportive environment for families who have experienced the sad loss of a
baby, giving them the chance to come together in remembrance.”
Heatherjane Coombs, Chair of Cardiff & Newport Sands, said:
“We’re proud to work alongside Cardiff Bereavement Services in putting together
this wonderful service enabling parents to remember their babies. We
understand how devastating it is when a baby dies and members of the group will
be on hand to provide support after if you would like to speak to someone”
Memory cards can be written during the service and afterwards there will
be an opportunity to place a memory pebble in the memory bowl in the Ilex
Garden.
