Cardiff’s Bereavement Services Team are double award finalists
Cardiff’s Bereavement Services team have made it to the finals of two prestigious awards national awards. 

Thornhill Crematorium and Cemetery is in the running to pick up a coveted Cemetery of the Year award having made it to the finals with one of the top scores in the Large Burial grounds category.  The team at Thornhill are previous winners of the award, having scooped the honour in 2016.

Following a rigorous selection process, the Bereavement Services team have also made it to the finals of the APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) Service Awards, nominated in the Best Service Team of the Year – Cemetery and Crematorium category.

The annual APSE awards celebrate the very best in local government frontline services across the UK. The Bereavement Services team last won this category in 2016.

Cabinet Member with responsibility for Bereavement Services, Cllr Michael Michael, said: “I know the Bereavement Services team take great pride in providing the best possible service at what can be an incredibly difficult time of people’s lives and these two award nominations are well-earned recognition of their commitment and hard-work.
