The free event follows on from the success of
last year's 70thanniversary celebrations which saw the doors of
the park's nurseries thrown open to the public for the first time.
Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport,
Cllr Peter Bradbury, said: "Having Bute Park at the heart of the city is
one of the many things that makes Cardiff special, and this is a really good
opportunity to find out more about its history, the work that goes on behind
the scenes, and pick up some tips from the experts who work there every
day."
Based at the Bute Park Education Centre, the
event, which takes place on Saturday March 28th, will
feature:
·
A
talk on Bute Park's Victorian Gardens and its links to the Bute family estate
on the Isle of Bute.
·
