The BYDP project aims to support young people to achieve the relevant qualifications to help fulfil their ambitions and chances of employment.

It's been a year like no other and the project has proved an invaluable support for young people.

Mojeid, a former Fitzalan High School pupil, enrolled onto level 1 coaching qualification earlier this year and has since successfully gained employment as a Cricket Wales' diverse Community Development Officer. He has been bowled over by the new role!

Mojeid said: "My official title is Cricket Wales' diverse Community's Development Officer, the main purpose of my role is to prioritise and implement work that will deliver the diverse communities' strategy of Cricket Wales which is to connect communities and improve well-being by inspiring people to discover their passion for cricket."

Martin from the Butetown Youth Development Project said: Mojeid's passion for cricket and his enthusiastic approach has shone through. We hope to produce a partnership with Cricket Wales that creates a pathway in which we can send interested and committed young people from the project to Cricket Wales and attain the same qualification. The course would provide vital work experience as a volunteer to help increase chances of employability and potentially remaining with Cricket Wales and gaining paid work."
