St David's Hall set to raise the curtain after 18 months

St David's Hall will welcome back audiences on Tuesday 31 August with its first live show in 18 months.

The venue was closed to the public in March 2020 following advice from UK Government due to Covid-19 safety measures.

However, following Wales' move to Alert Level Zero, the Hall is back with a bang -reopening with the first live show with a full indoor capacity audience in Wales.

Cabinet Member for Culture, Venues & Events, Councillor Peter Bradbury said: "We are delighted that the first live show with a full indoor capacity audience in Wales will be at St David's Hall, and especially with such a high-profile name in Jimmy Carr.

"Over the last 18 months, we have missed live entertainment so much and come to realise what a crucial part it plays in our social lives. I would like to extend a warm welcome back to our loyal patrons enjoying a safe return to the National Concert Hall of Wales, and a huge thank you for your invaluable support."

Blue-Green Algae at Parc Cefn Onn Pond

Please note that recent samples taken from the pond at Parc Cefn Onn have indicated the presence of Blue-Green Algae.

Blue-green algae is a natural inhabitant of many inland waters, estuaries, and the sea and under certain environmental conditions such as high temperatures, low wind speeds, and low river flows, algal populations can grow rapidly. This excessive growth can be particularly common at this time of year and is known as a ‘bloom'.

The algae should be avoided as it can be toxic to people and animals.

Warning signs are in place to remind people to keep away from the water's edge to avoid contact with the algae.

🐶Please keep pets away from the water's edge.
